What are the characteristics of epoxy resin?

Epoxy resin is made up of two components: a resin combined with a hardener. Once mixed, it can be worked according to your needs and preferences, and can be tinted in the color of your choice for a highly aesthetic result. Malleable in its liquid form, the resin is processed at a temperature between 20 and 25°C and begins to react as soon as the mixing starts. This curing phase can last several days depending on the room temperature and the choice of hardener. This product has many advantages that give it a true multi-purpose status.   Unlike polyester resin, epoxy resin is completely waterproof. As a result, it can be used for boat building and marine renovation, for example.

• Epoxy resin is highly durable over time.

  Naturally glossy, epoxy resin also allows for a wide range of customization, particularly through the use of colored pigments.

Good to know: although particularly strong and durable over time, epoxy resin does have one weakness: UV exposure. It is therefore recommended to protect it with a UV-resistant coating (varnish or opaque paint), especially in cases of strong exposure to sunlight.
