Carbon fabrics and epoxy resin

Carbon fabrics combined with epoxy resin enable the production of extremely lightweight and highly resistant composite structures. Thanks to their excellent tensile and compressive properties, they are widely used in demanding technical applications. Once impregnated with epoxy resin, carbon fibers form a rigid, durable structure suitable for high-performance components.

Types of carbon fabrics and forming

Carbon fabrics are mainly available in plain weave, twill weave, and satin weave constructions. Plain weave provides high dimensional stability, ideal for flat surfaces. Twill weave offers greater flexibility, allowing reinforcement of complex shapes with an attractive visual finish. Satin weave, less common, provides excellent drapability and high mechanical performance. All can be easily cut and adapted to complex geometries.

Applications and performance of carbon composites

Carbon/epoxy composites offer exceptional specific strength, exceeding many metals while maintaining extremely low weight. They provide excellent resistance to temperature, weathering, and harsh environments.
