How to Turn Your Memories (Flowers, Sand, Seashells) into Resin Creations

Epoxy resin is a fascinating material—transparent, strong, and glossy—that allows you to preserve precious memories in unique and durable objects. A wedding flower, sand brought back from a trip, or a seashell collected on vacation… all these small treasures can be transformed into truly personal creations. Here’s how to do it.

1. Choose Your Memories

Before you begin, select the elements you want to preserve. Among the most popular:

  • Dried flowers: wedding bouquet, gifted flowers, garden memories.

  • Seashells, sand, small pebbles: perfect for keeping a piece of the seaside.

  • Symbolic objects: concert tickets, broken jewelry, feathers, small photos.

Important: Resin does not tolerate moisture. Your keepsakes must be completely dry before being embedded.

2. Prepare the Materials

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • PPE: gloves, scale, protective equipment (always work in a well-ventilated area).

  • Artpoxy 20 Plus or Artpoxy 60 Plus (depending on the desired object thickness).

  • Silicone molds (various shapes: hearts, cubes, circles, trays, etc.).

  • Mixing sticks and cups.

  • Your keepsakes (flowers, sand, shells, etc.).

3. Design Your Creation

Before pouring the resin, arrange your keepsakes dry inside the mold. This allows you to test the layout and visualize the final result.

Some inspiration:

  • A dried flower centered in a transparent pendant.

  • A layer of sand at the bottom of a coaster, enhanced with small shells.

  • Gold glitter surrounding a miniature photo.

5. Finish with Care

Once demolded, lightly sand the edges if necessary. For an even glossier effect, apply a thin finishing coat of resin or a clear varnish.
